As a sponsor of the Best Factory Awards programme and a past winner of the Best Factory Award, it irks me that the UK languishes so far down the global manufacturing industry’s productivity league. (17th to be exact!)
 
Over recent years, we at PP have, in our own small but significant way, been trying to do something about that position. Certainly, we have picked up some awards along the way, but much more important are the actions we have taken have improved our own performance out of sight from where it was less than a decade ago.
 
I hope some of what we have learned, practiced and shared with others, more recently through opening up our training business, will help to make a difference to UK Manufacturing plc.
 
Now I would like to invite you as one of the industry’s leaders to come along to the factory to see for yourself the strides we’ve made and to discuss with a small group of industry colleagues how we can move UK manufacturing into the global champion’s league and – no small matter – improve profitability on the back of our own world class performance.
